1940’s WWII Original Propaganda Cartoon The Pacific – Robert. D. Gustafson
$595.00
Original propaganda drawing in pencil and charcoal by Robert. D. Gustafson, depicting war in the Pacific. Uncle Sam lording over a Japanese officer, demonstrating the mighty force of the US army.
‘THE LARGEST / ARMY IN THE WORLD/ 130,000,000/ LOYAL AMERICANS’
This is a fantastic original art work produced around 1930-1950’s. This art work is likely to have been used in print around the war period.
The word ‘LARGEST’ was subsequently added to cover what was originally the word ‘BEST’, indicating that this image was possibly used for print and likely deemed undiplomatic.
