Valerius Licinianus Licinius (c.265-325 A.D.)

Started out from humble beginnings, born into Dacian peasant family from Moesia Superior, the southern part of the Balkan region.

He was close childhood friend with the future emperor Galerius, helping on a number of expeditions and later being issued the title of Augustus by Galerius and entrusted western provinces of the empire.

He was the colleague and later became the rival of Constantine I. He was defeated in the Battle of Chrysoplis in 324 A.D. and was later order by Constantine I to be executed.
