The design features the Mosque of Ibn Tulun is located in Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest and largest mosque in Egypt as well as the whole of Africa surviving in its full original form. The mosque was commissioned by the Turkic ruler Ahmad ibn Tulun and named as such. The reverse has a Pharaonic engraving of god Hapi, the god of the annual flooding of the Nile.
