1919 Australia George V Silvered The Peace of 1919 Medallet
Struck to celebrate the end of WWI in 1919. Designed by Douglas Richardson of Melbourne and issued by the Department of Defence to be distributed to all school children of the Commonwealth of Australia.
Although struck in large numbers the silvered issue is normally found fairly worn, this example in fantastic condition with beautiful toning, graded as Uncirculated.

A Nation Celebrates Peace
In 1919, as the guns of the Great War finally fell silent, Australia marked the end of the conflict with both reflection and celebration. To honour peace—and the sacrifices made—Melbourne-based medallists Stokes & Sons struck a special medal. Uniquely, it wasn’t for soldiers, but for children.

One side displayed King George V, reinforcing loyalty to the Empire. On the reverse, allegorical figures celebrated peace, progress, and hope. Though modest in size, the medal carried enormous sentiment.
