These patriotic certificates where issued to the school children who helped raise funds in support of the war efforts, helping the Overseas club provide parcels of Tobacco, Cigarettes, and other greatly needed comforts to the soldiers overseas fighting in the war
Empire Day was celebrated on 24th May on Queen Victoria’s birthday from its inception in 1905, to promote patriotism in the British Empire, amongst school children in particular.
