Attractive 1/4 Rupee from the Bengal Presidency. Frozen date 19, struck at the Calcutta Mint.
Despite bearing the mint name of Murshidabad, these coins were actually struck at the Calcutta mint (crescent mint, ᵕ mark on the middle left of the obverse) from 1830-33 AD
Graded as almost Extremely Fine with attractive toning with signs of underlining bloom remaining.
Although only the Silver Rupee was listed within the Proclamation of 1800, this coin being its little brother would no doubt have been excepted at half the value of the Rupee.

1800’s Proclamation
One among the 1800 Australian Proclamation coins, this type originated from a decree by Philip Gidley King, the Governor of New South Wales in 1800. The proclamation elevated the values of ten designated British, Dutch, Indian, Portuguese, and Spanish coins above their original denominations for circulation within the colony. Notably, this Rupee was assigned a value of 2 Shillings and 6 Pence.
