Nicely toned Indian Silver Half Rupee from the Bengal Presidency.
Struck in the name of the Murshidabad mint, however is the second issue with vertical milling, struck in 1819 at Calcutta mint. Weight was increased to 6.21g and silver percentage lowered
Graded as Almost Extremely Fine with attractive toning.
Although only the Silver Rupee was listed within the Proclamation chart of 1800, this coin being its little brother would no doubt have been excepted at half the value of the Rupee.

1800’s Proclamation
One among the 1800 Australian Proclamation coins, this type originated from a decree by Philip Gidley King, the Governor of New South Wales in 1800. Notably, this Rupee was assigned a value of 2 Shillings and 6 Pence.
