Fantastic Silver Sterling from the Scottish king William the Lion
William the Lion, a Scottish monarch, ruled from 1165 to 1214. He secured alliances with England and France, expanding Scotland’s influence. He fought in the Third Crusade alongside Richard the Lionheart. Despite being captured in 1174, he negotiated Scotland’s independence. William died in 1214, leaving a legacy of diplomacy and territorial expansion.
Nice natural toning with good portrait of William the Lion (crude style), minor surface crack, although has not penetrated through, graded as almost Very Fine
